I think where he excelled was when he sold players and acquired picks and I really really liked the entire Hamilton situation. A great move to acquire him which was an absolute great move for a rebuilding team that had just overachieved by adding a budding star 22 year old right shot D. I then thought he did a great job of trading him along with the last season of Ferland and Fox who wouldn’t sign for 2 former 5th overall picks who were 23 and 21. Hanifin even represented a guy picked in the same draft where we traded a 1st to get Hamilton.
It is basically those 2 trades and his RFA signings that have made me a fan of his. I like that the team is always named when there is a player rumored to be on the market but it has become annoying because he has failed to land that player.
