which is of no help what so ever at a road block when the new 'el presidentes' men are pointing AK's at you because you are the wrong faith or color or tribe, gold and diamonds are a traditional store of wealth in insecure regions because you can use them as payment as well as a store of wealth, US dollars also are used alot, what a bitcoin wallet stuffed up your backside gets you is either no way to bribe the soldier or if you pull it out three hours of torture to get your key off you so they can take it all.
There are vast areas of the world where the banking and political structure is so unstable that being able to bribe a guard/bus driver or buy a chicken might be a life or death neccesity, the ability to hide most of your gold but pull out one krugerrand as needed is literally why gold and diamonds have always been valued as wealth storage, crytpo may well be a good store of wealth, it may even become a good alternate currency but it isnt anymore useful than a visa card as a means of accessing useable value
