I think Peter nails Vancouver in his thread. Its fine place to visit, not great, the food scene there is overhyped to the Max, people are self absorbed aholes, the weather sucks, etc.
I have been there more times than I can count and with housing the way it is, there is no way I would live there. It would be like living in a hyper-Portlandia, and not the charming skit one.
