Yea I think the Flames on paper match up against any other team in the North division. The Leafs are the only team from top to bottom that are just loaded with talent everywhere.

Oil are a two man team I dont think their depth or D or Goalie is as good. Montreal looks an awful lot like the Flames on paper but they have more heart, a better coach and faster legs.

Winnipeg looks close to me on paper to but again that team seems consistently coached and more prepared to play each night.

The Canucks Pettersson has never hits the heights Johnny has and Boeser and Horvat are a wash with Chucky and Money.

Theres no reason the Flames shouldnt be sitting tied with the Jets or Oil imo with a decent coach and a heart transplant.

Get a decent coach, get back on Hartley's "we will be the most conditioned team on the ice mantra" do some callups to infuse more speed again. Maybe even some trades for speed and compete. Coyotes hockey doesnt work in the new NHL. There's no reason this group cant be a perennial 2nd round team. Cup contender not a chance but they are underperforming for sure.
