Sam Bennett in 6:30 of ice time 5v5 last night:
- 4 shots (1st)
- 0.29 ixGF (1st)
- 4 scoring chances (2nd behind Andersson)
- 1 high danger chance (2nd behind Andersson)
He led all Flames forwards offensively last night, but because of one mental lapse, he gets benched despite the Flames already not having Monahan, which also sees a big ice time increase in Ward's favorite plug, Froese. Still an absolute joke that he was put out their with Gaudreau on the 4-on-4.
In the last few games, it's been:
Bennett plays well with Johnny + Mony = getting moved down the lineup
Bennett plays fantastic back in the middle with Lucic + Dube = getting moved down to the 4th line
Bennett makes one mental lapse in a game where he led Flames forwards offensively on a night where the Flames were without Monahan and mustered 21 shots against a team that allows 32.5 a game = getting benched for the remainder of the game.
Like seriously, Bennett can't win. Geoff Ward is in way over his empty head.
