You're really missing why anyone was "batting an eye".
Bennett was one of the stronger Flames in this game offensively. And his errors, which he
of course made, were the sort all forwards on all teams make all the time.
If Leivo had four shots in two periods while the rest of the team's forwards finish the game with five shots total, he would not deserve to be benched either.
It's as if you didn't watch THIS game.

And in THIS game, there was absolutely ZERO reason for Byron Froese to be on the ice either.
