I think all these things can be true:
Bennett glided and generally didn’t try hard, and also read the play badly.
It wasn’t the main reason for the goal. But it wasn’t a good look.
It probably wasn’t bench worthy unless (and I keep saying this) it’s something that he’s been told to do repeatedly and ignored.
Tkachuk is also playing badly.
Stars get benched way less than role players. Welcome to the NHL.
