I am not defending Bennett's read or effort there, but at the end of the day, if you backcheck well
enough for the odd man rush to look like this, I don't think you should not be given another shift, especially when you literally finish the night with the most shots on your entire team even strength, despite missing an entire period.
If you want an idea of a truly poor effort on that play? There was a forward in the D zone (Lucic?) who went off the ice for a line change while the Oilers had full possession of the puck. I'm willing to bet that forward got shifts in the rest of the game.
He looked no less engaged than Hanifin, Valimaki, Lucic, Dube?
