Watched it already and it was good. A few new characters and a big leap in terms of their advancement in space from where they actually were in 1983. Fun to see what more competition would have done to the space race.

I'm concerned about the solar flare. I looked it up and nothing like that happened in 1983 that I could find. Something that wouldn't have happened if the only thing that changed in history was Russians landing on the Moon first.

Does this mean that the reality they're in is more separate than that one single event changing most things on Earth moving forward?

The show's still great but that "small" change and the cascading effect was part of the fun of the show.
