I could obviously be wrong but that is a theory I have had for a little while.
There were a lot of rumors at that draft the Canucks would trade their pick for Hanifin but Hughes slipped down the draft a bit and that killed the deal. The Flames and Canes then came together on the blockbuster.
Had those original deals went through I wonder if there would still have been an appetite for a Ferland+Fox for Lindholm deal?
