Instead we are wasting away opportunities with the players, we have and may end up starting over again because we didn't get the "director" right.
Jiri made a good point about the Flames coming out of the rebuild too soon and again I think this due to some inexperience. We started adding some veteran players, this may have been more of a hinderance and added stress to our salary structure. Thus setting us back in the rebuild. I think Treliving has done some excellent work on the team but some of these revolving issues like "keeping players who were not producing, such as Neal and Brouwer" Set us back in wins, on the ice, and just a bad example for the players giving an honest effort on the ice.
I like Brad Treliving but I think he needs to decide what kind of a team he wants to build and either find a coach that matches the team, or build to suit.
My opinion, we still have the wrong coach for this group of players.

Thing is - “right guy” is a crapshoot. Experienced? Successful in the past HC gigs? Babcock failed in Toronto and “no NHL experience” Keefe has done well, Cooper’s done great with no NHL experience, Berube won a cup after mediocre PA head coaching, Julien has had really mixed results over the years, Rick Bowness made the finals last year after years and years of mediocrity.
The one thing an experienced guy would bring I suppose, is a lack of excuses for the players. But who? Boudreau is a winning guy, but people here seem to want an ass-kicker and that ain’t him. Sutter is but some think he’s old fashioned (I think he’d be fine - he’s more adaptable than people think).
