We just watched a QB all of us considered worth a midround pick at best net a conditional first. We just saw the Rams trade out of the first round for two straight years to upgrade. QB desperation is very real. And it's not about Mariota being better than Trubisky or Foles or whoever. He's a stopgap, you aren't winning anything with him and are much better off with a rookie QB or tanking. Trading any assets for him is stupid, but QB desperation tells us teams do stupid things when a QB is involved.
