Difficulty scales depending on how many players are in the area so you won't be at a disadvantage playing alone

Weird, haven't found multiplayer very laggy at all. We usually play with 3-4 friends at a time.
What I find really interesting is that you can bring all your inventory from one game to another. So I can play on a local game building my own stuff, then log into our multiplayer game and I'll have all my own equipment, inventory, skills, etc. when I join and vice-versa.
