I dont know. I'm kind of enjoying Monahan being a set up man. Flies in the face of the old "he can only do one thing" narrative thats been built up around here for a couple of years now. Clearly there's nothing Monahan can do to please the dissenters. Because he's now gone from one dimensional garbage goal collector to a pretty good playmaker and not a liability defensively.
Ppl really need to take a step back and just let the angst go. Enjoy our players while we got em and let things unfold instead of forcing constant narratives that no longer apply because things and times change, and apparently.....players games.
Look at it this way , as far as Duos go, I don't think anybody can argue they haven't adapted and changed things up, and they're having success doing so.
If you asked a handful of Monahan haters at the beginning of the year if he would be the set upon and not the trigger man, the replies would be hilarious. "Like yeah right, he can't pass". Well, that's now wrong. It wasn't before because they never tried to change things because at the time, Monny pumping in 20-30 goals a year was working.
