Meanwhile some teams snap them up at the draft like they know what they're doing or something. Coincidentally, those are more often than not the same teams you see at or near the top of the standings most years.

TBF, who are the top centres? McDavid, Matthews, MacKinnon all went #1. Eichler, Draisaitl, went 2,3. Guys like Point - everyone took a pass on, not just Calgary (and TB already had a first overall C).
