I think tonight it was both on the coach and the players. Ward didn't do nearly to adjust to the Vancouver forecheck and neutral zone defensive strategy, and the players showed very little emotion and will to win the game.
No fancy stats needed to see that this was an ugly game. The actual shots on net will suffice here.
I thought that Vancouver was going to make a push this game again and come out hard, and I thought that the Flames would just have to weather the storm for a bit, but that continued all game. Just spurts of push back.
I actually wish Markstrom wasn't in net. If it wasn't for him, this would probably have been an embarrassing blowout, and perhaps then it would make this team wake up a bit.
