I think it's just due to the horse head having to be so much smaller, to accommodate the very thick cumberbund the Flames retro features. I'm not a fan of ol' horse snot in general the way many are, but admit it looks decent in person when I saw it at the Flames team store. The stitching (and jersey material) in general is so much more crisp than it used to be back in the day, really makes logos and numbers pop well.
I like the white C's you did on the shoulders. If you had more room on the front (aka could somehow use a retro looking Flames jersey without a fat cumberland, if such a thing existed) so you could use the full size "Blasty", it could be pretty decent.
