Remember back in 2002 when Marc Savard was traded away because it was felt that he wore out his welcome here? He went on to become one of the most prolific players in the NHL. Maybe this management group doesn't want to see history repeat itself...

I like Bennett and hope for the best but I do find that a lot of his points in the playoffs are rather flukey. He gets a LOT of bounces in the playoffs and no bounces in the regular season.
He is a perplexing player to judge to be sure. Some shifts he creates offense, some shifts he kills it. One thing is for sure, he has very poor finish, don’t know if that’s a lack of confidence. Im sure someone will reply and post a couple of his goals where he dangled and scored top shelf, but even Krystoff Oliwa and Chris Simon had a few of those. His bread and butter seems to be crashing and banging, and when’s he’s not doing that or when he’s trying to be too fancy, he’s not nearly as effective.
