If I recall correctly, the Oilers didnt tank to get McDavid. It was their best year in a while. In a normal year they would have picked 3rd to 5th I believe. They only had 11% chance to get him.

I just checked. Not their best, but one of the better ones in a while. Finished 28th.

How sad is that lol.
