Why would they not let the development continue as it has been...its actually a pretty standard trajectory for a guy of his ilk.
Bennett is a cautionary tale as to why they take their time with some young guys. He needed to learn the pro game and when he didn't well you've seen the results.
Trust management enough to know who is or isn't ready to contribute without getting their confidence destroyed AND can still help the team as currently constructed.

The portion of your bolded question doesn't make sense. I gave you my reasoning for why I think he is ready. In addition to that, being "groomed" currently means playing no games. He led the team in the AHL last year and should have been given a fair chance to make the team.
Trust management enough? This is a franchise that has lost several players because they never gave them an opportunity and so eventually, those players lost confidence and either signed with another team or never made it to the NHL.
Once again, no one is expecting Gawdin to play top six minutes so I am not sure what you are grooming him for. He is 23 years old (almost 24) and has played around 120 pro games in the minor leagues. This is not like the Bennett situation at all.
