He has never played NHL hockey.
He is a guy that they are grooming.....why does he have to play NOW?
Why would they not let the development continue as it has been...its actually a pretty standard trajectory for a guy of his ilk.
Bennett is a cautionary tale as to why they take their time with some young guys. He needed to learn the pro game and when he didn't well you've seen the results.
Trust management enough to know who is or isn't ready to contribute without getting their confidence destroyed AND can still help the team as currently constructed.
