Nah that only works for things that people expect to be scarce. Jerseys are not now, nor have they ever been scarce. And it is too late for the scarcity to pay off because no additional pre orders would have been made by fans since no one has ever expected jerseys to permanently sell out before they were ever worn by the teams.

This is either incompetence or apathy from adidas. Maybe they can’t be bothered to produce more for the nhl because factory production is limited and they have more important partners to produce goods for.

And since we know there is no scarcity in the jersey market it also won’t encourage anyone to pre order on the next batch.

Literally the only thing nhl and adidas get out of doing this is less money and less happy fans. Sounds about right.
