Canadian Tire will take them back because they DGAF. What happens is the supplier of the heaters to Canadian Tire will have to ship them back to their company - at their own expense - and eat the loss. Gone are the days where Canadian Tire will put some scotch tape on the box and sell it to the next guy...they just pass the loss onto the supplier.

It's very unethical...maybe consider keeping the heaters or selling them on Kijiji at a loss. Without a shred of doubt, you're deliberately screwing somebody over and taking food off their table by stealing time with their product then sticking them with costs over and above the cost of the actual unit (freight, administrative and warehousing costs) when you're done using it.

Fair enough.

I've spent several years in retail. Are you saying they don't take the return, turn around, and sell it as an 'open box' item anymore?
