To be able to just relax and concentrate on playing his game without the threat of being demoted if he makes a bad play or has an off game, will hopefully make a huge difference for him and just maybe he can finally put it all together. Obviously, he would love for his career to really take off...but I really believe he would also love for it to happen as a Flame.
Bennett doesn’t seem like the type of guy who quits on his team. If (and that is an absolutely massive if) he finds some sustained chemistry on the 1st line I could absolutely see him staying here.

Who knows, maybe that’s the Flames hopes? “Change of scenery” could be interpreted as a move up the lineup too. This could be them giving him one last chance before they move him. I don’t buy the showcasing argument, teams don’t really do that and most scouts don’t base their assessment of a player based on a few games before a trade (not that you or anyone else was arguing that they’re showcasing him, I’m just saying).

I’ve liked Bennett on that line so far but he’s going to have to be consistent in that role if he wants to stay there. It’s all on Bennett now.
