I saw an interview with Dick Pound the other day on CBC where they discussed whether or not Canada should boycott. He made some very interesting and good points on why the athletes should not be penalized by a political decision aimed at a foreign super power. Basically a lot of it came down to the fact that if the government wants to stand up and penalize China they have better and stronger options through sanctions and other measures. He also said that the athletes are invited to the Olympics by the IOC which in general is apolitical.
