I think a lot of that depends on this season. If we falter in the playoffs, or miss them entirely, I expose Backlund. If we fail to impress come playoff time, this core has done what it can and it’s likely not a bad idea to see if we can’t shed a $5.35M third line player. If the playoffs are fruitful, I imagine the team takes another kick at the can as-is next season, so you likely expose Bennett.
I still don’t think Benny will be here come expansion time though. The player asked for a trade, and then got demoted to the taxi practice squad. If it weren’t for Ryan’s injury, I feel we’d already have seen a trade.
