This is nothing more than prolonging the pain. The team needs to move on as does Sam. Dont forget that there is a 3rd person of interest here. The guy that will take Sam's spot. Maybe its Buddy, or Simon or whoever. They are waiting on Tre to make the move so they can get the opportunities. If Tre delays for nothing, it will make them grumpy.
There is no upside in keeping Sam to magically increase his value. That will simply not happen if has a good game or two. The value is already set.

Yeah, I can agree with most of this. But I very much doubt that any delay is for nothing, or that there is any attempt to artificially increase Bennett's value. Reports have indicated that there are multiple teams interested in Sam Bennett. Is it not just as simple as taking time to settle on the best offer? Sometimes that takes time.
