These are not reasons at all. Sam wants to play on another team. If Tre gets a 2nd, good, a 3rd? Sure. What does he care? He just wants out.

And again, a couple games of showcasing a player that has been in the NHL for years does what exactly? Every GM knows his game already.

This is nothing more than prolonging the pain. The team needs to move on as does Sam. Dont forget that there is a 3rd person of interest here. The guy that will take Sam's spot. Maybe its Buddy, or Simon or whoever. They are waiting on Tre to make the move so they can get the opportunities. If Tre delays for nothing, it will make them grumpy.

There is no upside in keeping Sam to magically increase his value. That will simply not happen if has a good game or two. The value is already set.
