I guess we will see. The history of NHL general managers is not littered with GMs whose careers were undone by protracted trade-disputes with disgruntled players. And it's not like this is anything new, either. Yzerman survived Drouin. Sakic survived Duchene. Sam Bennett has nowhere near the impact as these players. I am fairly sure Treliving will come out of this okay.
