I disagree, anytime a player can help to free up 8M in cap space its a huge move for the team. Guys like Brady, Elway and Manning understand the importance of bringing in talent or keeping talent.
In Elway's case he did this more than once (guy is the ultimate Role Model). I remember reading about Elway he would go to the organization and say if you sign this player I will restructure my contract. The guy was there to win.
I guess the other way to look at it; why is more players not doing this type of move?
