I don't think either are going to win the calder for the record, but you may want a little more time into their careers before you start making projections but I'll bite.

Valimaki has had three poor games to start the season (last night one of them), Stanley only one by his log. The early returns seem to suggest a higher ceiling of impact for Valimaki if he can rough out the edges. All this ... with ... eight ... games of .... data.

I did not notice your rational posts on the "Valimaki in Finland" thread where they were numerous well supported opinions that Valimaki was going to be a beast and be a calder contender.

This was the 2nd most viewed individual player thread behind Markstrom signs thread.

You honestly didn't expect more from Valimaki?

Were you one of the few Flame fans that weren't disappointed that they wouldn't play him in the playoffs because of the expansion implications?

Also Stanley is just a shocking story. He was written off by most analysts that he wouldn't get a Tim Rambolt sniff of the NHL. If he got benched for the rest of the season he has exceeded expectations for 2021.

That he could be mentioned in a comparison with Valimaki over any 8 game stretch ever is wackadoodle
