I hope he doesn't get yet another opportunity on another team.


However, it is a kind of opportunity for some teams to get out of their bad contracts. If a GM is desperate enough - like Edmonton - then they can trade Neal for DeAngelo, and go in front of the media saying that they will work with him and monitor him, insisting that people like him just need some stability and guidance that a strong core and locker room can give him. A month later, suddenly that team can just void his contract for disciplinary reasons and presto! - no more terrible contract.


Whomever trades for him I will boo incessantly forever. Some people make a mistake in life, and deserve a second chance. You can argue that he has gotten more than his fair share of chances - more chances than anyone less talented than him would receive. I think his time is up in the NHL, and good riddance.
