Sure, there are plenty of contracts that would qualify, but why would the Rangers do this? They can just sit him at home and buy him out for a cap hit penalty of something like 800k / 400k, if my math is right. Or you could have a multi-million dollar anchor on your cap for years to come. I just don't see it happening.
