At my peak I was 340 lbs. It took alot of my close friends really harping on me to look in the mirror and make the changes. I honestly didnt feel that fat until people started commenting on it (I'm super tall). Now i'm down to 245 and feel amazing.
Some disabilities you can't control. Being fat is in your own hands and people shouldn't coddle someone cause of their feelings when its a sure path to an early death and serious avoidable health conditions.
EDIT- I liken it to smoking. Smoking is addictive and isn't easy to quit. I used to be a 2 pack a day smoker and quit. I've shamed a few friends into quitting. Unhealthy habits shouldn't be ignored cause you don't want to hurt someones feelings.
