this is it. I remember a line that an NFL GM once dropped regarding potential off-the-field concerns of prospects in the draft: "If Hannibal Lecter ran a 4.3 in the 40 yard dash, we'd probably diagnose it as an eating disorder". It's not that extreme in the NHL, but some teams will probably forgive those headaches when the guy is a stud and helps you win. Once that goes out of the window, it becomes a problem.
NY shouldn't in any way, shape or form be seen as a beacon of morality here. If DeAngelo still performed as he did in the past, they'd happily sweep any off-the-ice altercations under the carpet.
