I am not convinced of this, and I maintain that if Backlund is left exposed, then he is almost certainly the player that Seattle will select from the Flames in the expansion draft. He will likely be one of the best forwards available, and will have three years left on his deal. Seattle is n to going to be anywhere near the salary cap for at least the first two seasons, and probably beyond.
