Sure it does. All that would mean is the Flames have held firm on their asking price and not making a deal based on what the market perceives Bennett to be worth. This is Bennett's representative trying to shake the tree and get the Flames asking price to go down to where the market is. You can't ask for an overpayment when the player has more interest in playing elsewhere. Bennett will not be a Flame next year unless he all of sudden finds a brain and some hands to go with it. He won't get qualified based on what he is scheduled to be paid. So it is going to come down to get a diminished return or get nothing. This is asset management, so you take the diminished return and don't look back.
