If the Flames qualify him (they wont) he would have no choice.
I could see a scenario where BT talks to Francis and says the Flames will QO him IF Seattle agrees to select him. Of course that would require Bennett staying til seasons end...which is very much not a sure thing at this point.
I agree though...Backlund looks more and more like the odd guy out. Particularly because of his full NTC...it may be the BT's best chance to divest from the last 3 years of that deal.
