QAnon and Anonymous are very different interests. QAnon is a spinout from the
cicada 3301 organization which has been rumored to be a front for the CIA to find cryptographer talent. Cicada 3301 was all about using gaming theory to motivate people, which is the exact same methods used to attract QAnon followers. Every Q drop (post) is a puzzle and the community works together to solve the puzzle or find meaning in the text of the post. The psychology of this is fascinating to watch develop as the movement grows.
