Yeah I agree with others saying he's not been good enough, for me he's just not very skilled relative to others at the nhl level. And his decision making is poor. With the puck and with all the dumb stick infractions. He hasn't played in a top 6 role because he hasn't earned it.

If he played more recklessly and threw hits day in and out would add value as an energy guy and probably bang in more Gary roberts style goals by going hard to the net more often but he only does it in the playoffs for some reason.

At least the expansion draft protection decision up front is easier the way he is playing.

I wonder if he would even get qualified at 2.5 mil if he puts up 10-15 pts this year. Its just too bad the flames are such a soft team otherwise, thats the hardest part about losing him as lucic seems to be so placid these days. Its basically tkachuk by himself when things turn nasty if bennett leaves.
