Hopefully the Flames just play a full 60 minutes tonight. Habs seem to be a fairly hard-working team, and their transition game is looking pretty quick. Hopefully Calgary can get those pucks turned-over in the neutral zone or just stuff them in the defensive blueline, and get a quick counter-attack.
Gaudreau and Monahan are playing well right now. I hope that they just keep it going.
Nice to see Rittich in net. I thought Ward would have Markstrom start tonight just as a bit of redemption for him, as he didn't have a great start last outing against the Leafs. He wasn't bad, just wasn't great. Hopefully the extra day's rest is better for him than trying to play through tonight. Rittich is as competent as any goalie in the league, and I do think that with fine-tuning, he can be a legitimately awesome starter. He has let in stinkers for sure, but his high-reflex athletic saves that we have seen him make speak at his ability level. Those stinkers I think are a lapse in concentration or positioning, so hopefully he can get that worked out. I would love to have a goaltender controversy in Calgary in having both guys playing amazing.
Flames were the first visiting team to win the cup at the Forum, so screw the Candiens.
