I would say that was fair, except that he said those things after ONE post. He jumped to a conclusion from the mere fact that the thread existed, before there was anything else to be said about it.
To use his own metaphor, he said ‘pump the brakes’ when the car hadn't even been started. That signifies a strong desire not to go anywhere.
