Diva isn’t the right word at all. But he’s a lot more intense, stubborn and individually motivated behind his congenial public nature. I think he still feels not fully respected or given enough credit even after all he’s done.
The whispers of him just being a game manager earlier in his career through the SB’s, the fact that he had locker room rumblings about him earlier in his career, his lack of MVP votes etc all seem to push him harder to prove he’s smarter and more able then most QBs and coaches. In some cases, he well may be, but it still takes a team to win.
He’s said he spends $1M a year on personal training staff and coaches and cooks to continue to stay in shape and wants to play until he’s 45 which is 13 more seasons.
