The difference between a competent head coach and an elite head coach may be small, but the difference between Ward and his counterparts seems quite large. There is a reason the guy hadn't been a head coach in 14 years. The little pro head coaching experience he did have was completely mediocre.
Trelieving has had three "I'm smarter than everyone" coaching hires. Just hire someone with a history of success.
