There's no argument here. I want him wayyy gone come the summer. Too little too late. That's two points he's managed to claw back from the numerous that he's cost through lazy play, sloppy tackles and needless handballs etc. And I dont count that miss against Liverpool. That's forgiveable. Just a miss.
But I'm glad to see him turn it on. Props to the way he was managed. Sat for numerous games coming on at stages to see games out. Message sent that the club would go on without him and he wasn't a guaranteed walk on and that indeed the way he was playing the best team was the one without him.
What I've noticed and this is the first time I've seen this in years is that he actually gets involved in the goal celebrations. He genuinely seems to be invested in winning. I'm guessing (hoping) that Ole might be managing him the same way SAF managed Ronaldo when he wanted out. Give me one good season and I promise I'll let you go.
Grealish is the miss of the summer. Not just for United but for all clubs. Been said here plenty of times that there is an inflated value for home players but he's worth it. He's shown that he can perform in this league against the very best. Pay top $ for an overseas player you just don't know due to the different style of football, culture, settling in etc. There's an element of the unknown.
They were able to offer that money for Sancho and threw 40M at VdB yet wouldn't pay Villa's price.
Couple of things I've read elsewhere that I don't necessarily disagree with. First is the it's possible Pogba could just have been a slow recovery from Covid and the second is that VdB could have been a board and not Ole buy.
