At the time parker got picked he had an amazing season beside modric for spurs
Dont think he was chosen over Carrick, they would have been the 2 together in front of the the back 4. Parkers tackling was elite and he was a good short passer, Carricks distribution was incredible, would have made a good partnership with Gerrard in front
Instead it was Gerrard and parker, Milner and young wide, and welbeck ahead of rooney
