And yes, if Tkachuk was demanding a trade I would take that deal in a heartbeat and laugh endlessly at the GM dumb enough to give up 5 assets (4 of them being extremely valuable) for one player.

Even if it was well documented that Stone was going to sign with Vegas, the trade competition only was getting him for 1 year. So Vegas benefited from this as other teams couldn't out bid them.
No question you trade 2 firsts and 2 seconds with a guy like Ryan for Dubois. This team is pretty close to be a contender right now. Dubois for Ryan would be a massive upgrade to a very good team and he barely makes more money and is signed for 1 more year at a massive steal of a contract. Then he is an RFA after that. I'd consider it without lottery protecting the firsts that is how good a deal it is.
