The Valimaki-Nesterov pairing is so stablizing as a bottom pair. Not sure how Mackey or ever crack the lineup.
Compared to the Oilers, this pairing would easily outperform their top-4. And to think that the Flames lost 2 of their top 4 (Brodie & Hamonic) to free agency... our D-core is solid.
