Monahan has to be the central piece. Sweeteners include draft picks, or Zary/Pelletier. It just makes too much sense from every stand point. If you're adding Hanifin some defenseman has to be coming back.

I know the people that are downplaying Pierre Luc Dubois really havent watched him play. I have a connection to Ryan Murray so I've watched a lot of Blue Jackets games since Dubois came into the league. Hes so much better than his "on paper" shows at this point in his career. He is poised to breakout. I also know that hes a good guy and teammate, these trade demands dont accurately paint what kind of guy he is.

Those that think anything more than Monahan would be an overpayment are out to lunch. Some even believe Monahan alone would be an overpayment. Crazy to me.

In the next couple of seasons when Dubois emerges as a star in this league and Monahan is still as invisible as usual with even less value (especially if Johnny leaves) while the Flames are still spinning their wheels with him as our #1 center some of the takes in here are going to be proven hilarious.

You have to give to get and I believe Dubois is going to become an amazing player in the near future. This is the deal to not only shake up the Flames funk but make us a much better team for years to come. I have faith that Treliving knows this to be true. We have the assets to make a deal. Put your chips in. Make the bold move.
