This is clearly a move to force the player out of town.

I get why the Panthers want to move Yandle, but it seems like a poor way to handle a player who has been loyal to the organization and more than fulfilled his contract expectations. Panthers have some big problems, but Yandle isn't really one of them. This isn't a great look for a brand new GM.

Hoooo boy, Panthers have possibly the worst management group in the NHL ENI* over the last couple of decades. Just can't stop shooting themselves in the foots. All this does is lower Yandle's trade value. When teams know you have them over a barrel, they take advantage of that.

(ENI = Edmonton Not Included)

I think it's more about Yandle's style of play. He avoids getting hit like the plague and will happily lose a puck battle to save his own ass. Couple that with his poor defensive play, reduced role under coach Q to a PP specialist and Florida being a bad defensive team for years now it's easy to see why the new GM wants to move him.

IMO the whole Ironman thing is a joke when Yandle's name is attached to it. He's probably the softest player in the league- never gives or takes a hit. But I agree that this could've been handled better.
